This Cozy Fall Fruit Salad with Cinnamon Orange Dressing is a sweet, tangy, and spiced dish that celebrates the flavors of autumn. Perfect for brunches, potlucks, or as a light dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 firm, sweet apples (e.g., Honeycrisp or Fuji), sliced into thin wedges
  • 2 Bartlett or Bosc pears, sliced into thin wedges
  • 1 cup pomegranate arils
  • 2 oranges, peeled and segmented
  • 1 cup red or black seedless grapes, halved
  • 1/2 cup toasted walnuts
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Wash the apples, pears, and grapes thoroughly. Slice the apples and pears into thin wedges, removing the cores. Halve the grapes if desired. Peel and segment the oranges, ensuring there’s no white pith left. Place all the fruit in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Toast the walnuts in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently. Let them cool slightly before adding to the bowl.
  3. Prepare the Cinnamon Orange Dressing. In a small bowl, whisk together fresh orange juice, honey, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract (if using). Gradually drizzle in olive oil, whisking constantly until the dressing is smooth and well combined.
  4. Pour the dressing over the fruit and toss gently to coat. Be careful not to overmix to keep the fruit intact.
  5. Sprinkle the toasted walnuts on top and serve immediately, or chill for 10-15 minutes to let the flavors meld together.

Notes

Choose ripe but firm fruit to avoid mushiness. Toasting the walnuts enhances their flavor. Adjust the sweetness of the dressing based on the ripeness of the fruit. Prep the fruit and dressing separately if making ahead.
