A nostalgic, crowd-pleasing recipe combining sweet marshmallows, fresh fruits, and a creamy dressing, perfect for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can mandarin oranges, drained
  • 1 can pineapple chunks, drained or fresh
  • 1 cup red grapes, seedless, halved
  • 1 cup green apples, diced
  • 2 bananas, sliced
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup sour cream (full-fat or light)
  • 1 cup whipped cream (store-bought or homemade)
  • 12 tablespoons honey (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice, freshly squeezed

Instructions

  1. Drain the canned fruits (if using), and set them aside. Rinse the red grapes and halve them. Dice the green apples into small bite-sized pieces, and slice the bananas. Toss the sliced bananas with the lemon juice in a small bowl to prevent them from browning.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the sour cream and whipped cream until smooth. If you prefer a sweeter salad, stir in 1-2 tablespoons of honey.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, gently fold the prepared fruits, mini marshmallows, and creamy dressing together. Be careful not to break the fruit. Mix until everything is evenly coated.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to blend and the salad to set.
  5. Give the salad a quick stir before serving. Garnish with a few extra mini marshmallows or mint leaves for a fun and festive presentation.

Notes

Chill the salad before serving to enhance the flavors. Toss bananas in lemon juice to prevent browning. Adjust sweetness by adding honey to the dressing.
