A quick and easy keto-friendly chocolate mousse made with ripe avocados, cocoa powder, and a keto-friendly sweetener. This creamy dessert is rich, silky, and perfect for satisfying sweet cravings without the carbs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium ripe avocados (about 300g or 10.5 oz), peeled and pitted
  • 1/4 cup (25g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 34 tablespoons keto-friendly sweetener (powdered erythritol, monk fruit sweetener, or blend), adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) heavy cream or full-fat coconut cream for dairy-free option
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon or instant espresso powder

Instructions

  1. Cut the ripe avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into your blender or food processor bowl.
  2. Add 1/4 cup (25g) unsweetened cocoa powder and 3 to 4 tablespoons of your preferred keto-friendly sweetener.
  3. Pour in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and a small pinch of sea salt.
  4. Add 1/4 cup (60ml) heavy cream or coconut cream.
  5. Blend on high for 1 to 2 minutes until the mixture is silky smooth, stopping occasionally to scrape down the sides with a spatula.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness or add a dash of instant espresso powder or cinnamon if desired, then blend briefly again.
  7. Serve immediately for a soft mousse or chill for 15-30 minutes to firm up slightly before serving.

Notes

Use ripe avocados that yield slightly to gentle pressure but are not mushy. For dairy-free version, substitute heavy cream with full-fat coconut cream. Blend thoroughly to avoid lumps. Chill mousse for 15-30 minutes for firmer texture. Add a tablespoon of water or more cream if mousse is too thick. Store in airtight container in fridge up to 3 days. Freezing is not recommended as it may affect texture.
