A quick and easy homemade milkshake that combines creamy vanilla ice cream with refreshing mint extract for a smooth, minty treat perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (480 ml) vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup (240 ml) whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure mint extract
  • 34 drops green food coloring (optional)
  • Whipped cream (for topping)
  • Chocolate shavings or sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Take the vanilla ice cream out of the freezer about 5 minutes before blending to soften slightly.
  2. Add 2 cups of vanilla ice cream and 1 cup of whole milk into a blender.
  3. Pour in 1/2 teaspoon of pure mint extract.
  4. Add 3-4 drops of green food coloring if desired.
  5. Blend on medium speed for 30 seconds to 1 minute until smooth and creamy.
  6. Taste and add a few more drops of mint extract if needed, then blend briefly again.
  7. Pour the milkshake into chilled glasses.
  8. Top with whipped cream and optional chocolate shavings or sprinkles.
  9. Serve immediately for best texture.

Notes

Start with less mint extract and add more incrementally to avoid overpowering the shake. Soften ice cream slightly before blending for smoother texture. Chilling glasses helps keep the milkshake cold longer. For dairy-free version, substitute almond or coconut milk and dairy-free vanilla ice cream.
