  • 1 cup powdered sugar (120 g), sifted for vanilla glaze
  • 23 tablespoons milk (3045 ml) for vanilla glaze
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for vanilla glaze

Instructions

  1. Mix the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  2. Combine wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Mix wet and dry: Pour wet ingredients into dry and stir gently until just combined; do not overmix.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes.
  5. Prepare donuts: Lightly grease donut pan and fill cavities ¾ full with batter, or roll tablespoon-sized dough balls for donut holes.
  6. Air fry donuts: Place in air fryer basket in a single layer, cook for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown and springy.
  7. Make cinnamon sugar coating: Mix granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
  8. Coat donuts: Toss hot donuts immediately in cinnamon sugar mixture using tongs or pastry brush.
  9. Prepare vanilla glaze: Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth, adjusting milk for desired consistency.
  10. Glaze and serve: Drizzle or dip donuts in glaze and let set for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Do not overmix the batter to keep donuts tender. Preheat the air fryer for crispiness. Flip donuts halfway through cooking for even browning.
