This recipe delivers perfectly crispy air fryer pork chops with juicy tender centers, combining a golden crunchy coating with moist, flavorful meat inside. It’s quick, easy, and perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pork chops, bone-in or boneless, about 1-inch thick
  • 12 tablespoons olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme or Italian seasoning
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, freshly ground, to taste
  • 1 large egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture and let them sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes.
  2. In a shallow bowl, combine breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir to mix evenly.
  3. Beat one large egg in a separate bowl until smooth and slightly frothy.
  4. Dip each pork chop first into the egg wash, letting excess drip off, then press firmly into the breadcrumb mixture, coating both sides evenly. For extra crunch, double-dip by repeating the egg wash and breadcrumb step.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and let it run empty for 3–5 minutes.
  6. Place the coated pork chops in a single layer inside the air fryer basket, avoiding overcrowding.
  7. Cook for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway through with tongs, until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C). If needed, cook for an additional 2–3 minutes, watching the crust.
  9. Let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes after cooking to redistribute juices before serving.

Notes

Patting pork chops dry before coating is essential for crispiness. Double-dipping in egg and breadcrumbs creates a sturdier crust. Flip halfway through cooking for even browning. Let chops rest after cooking to keep them juicy. For extra crispiness, finish with 1–2 minutes at 425°F (220°C). If no air fryer, bake on wire rack at 425°F for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway.
