Ingredients

Scale
  • 14 oz firm tofu
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess moisture using a tofu press or a heavy object for about 15 minutes.
  2. Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Place the tofu cubes in a mixing bowl, sprinkle with cornstarch, and toss until evenly coated.
  4. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the tofu cubes in a single layer.
  5. Fry the tofu for 3-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Work in batches if necessary.
  6. In a separate pan, melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter over low heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  7. Stir in soy sauce, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes (if using) to create the garlic butter glaze.
  8. Add the crispy tofu bites to the garlic butter mixture and toss to coat evenly. Cook for another minute.
  9. Transfer the tofu bites to a serving plate and garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
