  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice 2 large ripe bananas into chunks. Freeze them for at least 4 hours or overnight until solid.
  2. Hull and slice 1 cup of fresh strawberries. If using frozen strawberries, thaw them for about 10 minutes before blending.
  3. In a high-speed blender or food processor, add the frozen banana slices, fresh strawberries, and 1 tablespoon of pure maple syrup.
  4. Pulse initially to break down the fruit, then blend continuously for 2-3 minutes, stopping occasionally to scrape down the sides with a spatula.
  5. Check the texture; it should be creamy and smooth, resembling soft-serve ice cream. If too thick, add a teaspoon of water or plant-based milk to help blend smoother.
  6. Serve immediately for a soft-serve style or transfer to a freezer-safe container and freeze for 30-60 minutes for a firmer texture.
  7. Optional: Garnish with fresh strawberry slices, a drizzle of maple syrup, or a sprinkle of chopped nuts.

Notes

Use ripe bananas with brown spots for best sweetness. Do not overblend to avoid mushy texture. Frozen bananas must be completely frozen for proper texture. Maple syrup is optional but recommended for added depth and sweetness. If fresh strawberries are not in season, frozen strawberries can be used after thawing slightly.
