Golden, salty-sweet bites made with crispy bacon, buttery crackers, and gooey maple caramel. Perfect for parties, snack boards, or satisfying sweet-and-savory cravings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Club crackers
  • Bacon strips
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • Cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut each strip of bacon into thirds or quarters to fit snugly on top of the crackers.
  3. Lay the club crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cracker.
  4. In a small saucepan, melt 1/2 cup (1 stick) of unsalted butter over low heat. Stir in 1/2 cup of brown sugar and cook for 2-3 minutes until the sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and stir in 2 tablespoons of maple syrup.
  5. Spoon a small amount of the caramel mixture onto each cracker, spreading it evenly. Top with a piece of bacon and press down gently.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the caramel is bubbling. Monitor closely to avoid burning.
  7. Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt and a dash of cayenne pepper (if using) over the hot caramel bacon bites. Let them cool for 10-15 minutes to allow the caramel to set.
  8. Transfer the cooled bites to a serving platter and serve.

Notes

Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier. Thin-cut bacon crisps better, but thick-cut provides a meatier bite. Experiment with toppings like crushed nuts or chocolate drizzle for added flavor.
