Quick and delicious ham and cheese sliders with a buttery glaze, perfect for Easter brunch or any casual gathering. These sliders combine soft Hawaiian rolls, savory ham, and melty cheese for a crowd-pleasing treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 soft Hawaiian rolls or dinner rolls
  • 8 ounces deli-sliced honey ham or smoked ham
  • 8 ounces Swiss cheese, sliced
  • 4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking dish by lightly greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the slider rolls in half horizontally using a serrated knife, keeping the top and bottom connected like a sandwich tray. Place the bottom half in the baking dish snugly.
  3. Layer the ham evenly over the bottom half of the rolls.
  4. Add the Swiss cheese slices evenly over the ham, then sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  5. Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese, pressing gently to hold the layers together without squishing the buns.
  6. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds, garlic powder, and onion powder. Whisk until smooth.
  7. Brush the butter mixture generously over the top of the slider buns.
  8. Cover the dish loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil carefully and bake for another 5-7 minutes until the tops are golden brown and slightly crispy.
  10. Let the sliders cool for 5 minutes before slicing through the rolls to separate individual sliders.

Notes

Slice the rolls while still connected to keep sliders intact. Do not skip the butter glaze for a golden, flavorful crust. Watch the oven closely to avoid burning. Sliders can be assembled the night before and baked fresh the next day. For dairy-free, use vegan butter and cheese alternatives. For gluten-free, use gluten-free slider rolls and adjust baking time accordingly.
