  • 1 oz (30 ml) Baileys Irish Cream
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Strawberry Schnapps or Strawberry Liqueur
  • 1/2 oz (15 ml) Peach Schnapps (optional)
  • 1/2 oz (15 ml) Grenadine Syrup
  • Fresh strawberry slice or half (for garnish)
  • Ice cubes (to chill glasses)

Instructions

  1. Chill your shot glasses in the freezer for about 10 minutes.
  2. Pour 1/2 oz (15 ml) of grenadine syrup into the bottom of each shot glass.
  3. Slowly add 1 oz (30 ml) of strawberry schnapps on top of the grenadine, pouring gently to avoid mixing.
  4. If using, carefully pour 1/2 oz (15 ml) of peach schnapps over the strawberry layer.
  5. Using the back of a spoon, slowly pour 1 oz (30 ml) of Baileys Irish Cream over the schnapps layers to create the curdling ‘brain’ effect.
  6. Let the shooter sit for 30 seconds to allow the Baileys to curdle and form the characteristic texture.
  7. Garnish with a small slice or half of a fresh strawberry on the rim or gently drop it into the shot.

Notes

Chill all ingredients and glasses to maintain distinct layers. Pour Baileys slowly over the back of a spoon to create the curdling ‘brain’ effect. Serve immediately for best visual and taste experience. For dairy-free version, substitute Baileys with almond milk-based Irish cream alternative and use agave syrup instead of grenadine.
