Rich, nutty peanut butter paired with sweet, melty chocolate creates cookies that are perfect for gifting, sharing, or indulging yourself after a long day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Mix in the peanut butter, egg, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. The centers may look slightly underdone—that’s okay!
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.

Notes

[‘Don’t overmix the dough to avoid dense cookies.’, ‘Ensure butter and egg are at room temperature for better texture.’, ‘Chill the dough for 20-30 minutes if your kitchen is warm to prevent spreading.’, ‘Use parchment paper for easy cleanup.’, ‘Keep an eye on the cookies starting at the 10-minute mark to avoid overbaking.’]
