These festive floats combine fizzy blue raspberry soda, tart lemonade, and creamy vanilla ice cream for a red, white, and blue treat that’s perfect for the 4th of July or any summer celebration. Quick to assemble and endlessly customizable, they’re a show-stopping, kid-friendly party drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) blue raspberry soda, chilled (per float)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) lemonade, chilled (per float)
  • 1 large scoop (about 1/3 cup or 80 g) vanilla ice cream (per float)
  • 1 maraschino cherry (per float)
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
  • Blue raspberry syrup (optional, for extra color)
  • Ice cubes (optional, for extra chill)

Instructions

  1. Chill all ingredients and glasses for at least 10 minutes before serving for best results.
  2. Pour 1/2 cup blue raspberry soda into the bottom of each tall glass, pouring gently down the side to minimize foam.
  3. Slowly add 1/2 cup lemonade to each glass, pouring carefully to create a layered effect.
  4. Add a large scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of the liquids in each glass.
  5. Top with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry. Optionally, drizzle with blue raspberry syrup or add festive sprinkles.
  6. Serve immediately with long spoons and festive straws. Enjoy while bubbly and cold!

Notes

Chill all components for best results. Pre-scoop ice cream onto a tray and freeze for quick assembly at parties. Pour liquids slowly to keep layers distinct. For dairy-free or vegan floats, use plant-based ice cream and whipped topping. Most sodas and ice creams are gluten-free, but always check labels. For a grown-up version, add a shot of citrus vodka or blue curaçao. Serve immediately for maximum fizz and color.
