Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 ¾ cups (350g) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup (90g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • ½ cup (120ml) heavy cream
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup (120g) chopped pecans
  • 1 ½ cups (360ml) heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish with butter or nonstick spray.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pie dish and smooth the surface with a spatula. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let it cool completely on a wire rack.
  5. In a small saucepan, melt the sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly until it turns amber in color. Add the butter and stir until melted, then slowly pour in the heavy cream while whisking. Add the salt and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly. Let it cool for 10 minutes.
  6. Pour the cooled caramel sauce over the brownie base, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the caramel layer.
  7. In a mixing bowl, combine heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Use an electric mixer or whisk to beat until soft peaks form.
  8. Once the caramel layer has set, spread the whipped cream over the pie using a spatula or piping bag for a decorative touch.
  9. Slice into wedges and serve immediately for the freshest taste. Enjoy the gooey, creamy, and crunchy treat!
