A bright, tart, and bubbly summer cocktail featuring vodka, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, blue curacao, and sparkling water. Perfect for backyard parties and casual summer celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz vodka (per serving)
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice (per serving)
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup (per serving)
  • 0.5 oz blue curacao (per serving)
  • 34 oz sparkling water (per serving)
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices (for garnish)
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Juice fresh lemons until you have 1 oz (30 ml) per serving. Measure vodka, simple syrup, and blue curacao. Fill glasses with ice to chill.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine vodka, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, and blue curacao. Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well combined and slightly frothy. If no shaker, stir vigorously in a mason jar or mixing glass.
  3. Discard ice water from glasses and refill with fresh ice cubes. Pour the shaken mixture evenly into each glass (about 3 oz / 90 ml).
  4. Top each glass gently with 3-4 oz (90-120 ml) sparkling water. Stir gently with a long spoon or straw to combine without losing fizz.
  5. Garnish with a lemon slice on the rim or floating on top. Optionally add a sprig of fresh mint. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh lemon juice for best flavor. Shake the blue curacao with other ingredients to avoid uneven color. Add sparkling water last and stir gently to maintain fizz. Use fresh, clear ice cubes to keep the drink crisp. Glasses can be chilled beforehand to keep the drink colder longer. For lower alcohol, reduce vodka and increase sparkling water. Non-alcoholic version omits vodka and adds more lemonade and sparkling water with orange extract and blue food coloring.
