These savory pinwheels combine creamy homemade ranch, smoky bacon, shredded chicken, and cheddar cheese wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough for a quick and addictive snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (8 oz / 226 g) crescent roll dough
  • 2 cups (280 g) cooked shredded chicken (rotisserie chicken works perfectly)
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup (120 g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup (120 g) cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Add dried parsley, dill weed, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed and creamy. Add a splash of milk if mixture is too thick.
  3. Cook bacon slices in a skillet until crispy, drain on paper towels, then crumble into small pieces.
  4. Add shredded chicken, crumbled bacon, and shredded cheddar cheese to the ranch mixture. Stir gently to combine.
  5. Unroll crescent roll dough onto a clean surface. Press perforations to seal seams and create one solid rectangle.
  6. Spread the ranch-chicken mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  7. Starting from one long edge, roll the dough into a tight log. Slice into 1-inch thick pinwheels using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
  8. Place pinwheels cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until dough is golden and filling is bubbly. Check after 15 minutes to avoid burning.
  10. Let pinwheels rest for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Press crescent dough seams firmly to prevent unraveling. Use softened cream cheese for easy spreading. If filling is too wet, drain excess liquid from chicken. Baking times may vary; start checking at 18 minutes. Pinwheels can be frozen before baking and baked from frozen with extra cook time.
